Did you know that…

So here I am not knowing what to write about when a brilliant idea popped into my mind. “Did you know?” posts! Yes, I know, this is rather popular and may get a bit boring sometimes, but I will pick interesting facts. I will update it everyday starting with today.

Did you know that every colour except the one you see when you look at an object is the colour that object is?

Okay, so that may be a little hard to get your head around, but think of it this way. When you look at an object your eye shows you the only colour the object isn’t. It reflects the colours leaving you with only one. Don’t ask me to explain it fully as that is all I know about it, but I thought it was pretty cool so I just thought I’d mention it.

Also, Did you know that antibacterial soap is actually bad for you?

So, I didn’t know that until my mum told me why she didn’t buy it, which is because you need some types of bacteria in your body. These types of soap block it all out which is unhealthy for you. There is good bacteria and bad bacteria and having neither is just as bad as having bad bacteria. It is a similar concept to the sunscreens that block out the sun completely. Ultra-violet rays are bad for you, but you also need vitamin D, which comes from the sun. Recently, someone invented a sunscreen that blocks UV (ultra-violet) rays and lets in the Vitamin D. It is not a good alternative to have Vitamin D tablets if there is a natural way to get it (excluding the people who have some sort of disease that limits the amount of Vitamin D they get). But back to the original topic, I don’t recommend antibacterial soap and definitely think that normal soap does the job just fine.

Well, that’s all for today…
